Allergome - A Database of Allergenic Molecules

http://www.allergome.org/

The Allergome web site has been designed to supply information on Allergenic Molecules (Allergens).
Identified molecules causing an IgE-mediated (allergic, atopic) disease (anaphylaxis, asthma, atopic dermatitis, conjunctivitis, rhinitis, urticaria) have been selected from international scientific journals and from web-based resources.
It also contains data on allergenic sources whether they have identified molecules or not.

This is one of the most comprehensive online sources of information regarding allergens and allergenic proteins.

IMGT, the international ImMunoGeneTics database

http://imgt.cines.fr

IMGT, the international ImMunoGeneTics database, is a high-quality integrated information system specialising in Immunoglobulins (IG), T cell receptors (TR) and Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) molecules of all vertebrate species, created in 1989 by Marie-Paule Lefranc (Université Montpellier II, CNRS). IMGT consists of sequence databases (IMGT/LIGM-DB, a comprehensive database of IG and TR from human and other vertebrates, with translation for fully annotated sequences, IMGT/MHC-DB, IMGT/PRIMER-DB), genome and structure databases (IMGT/3Dstructure-DB), Web resources (IMGT Marie-Paule page) and interactive tools. The IMGT server provides a common access to all Immunogenetics data.

The biotechnology information for food safety database

Food allergy information page

The initial construction of these databases were described in: Gendel, S. 1998. Sequence Databases for Assessing the Potential Allergenicity of Proteins Used in Transgenic Foods. Advances in Food and Nutrition Research 42; 63-92. The databases presented here have been updated from that publication.

Gateway to all asthma, allergy and intolerance information on the web

http://allallergy.net/index.html

The World Wide Web has simplified access to a great wealth of allergy and intolerance information for health professionals and consumers. However this information is not necessarily easily accessible. Search Engines do not grade Web sites or articles according to their content or worth. Important articles or resources may not show up at all on a Search Engine. Furthermore, excellent resources may be "hidden" in sites due to poor navigational design. Some noteworthy sites have little or poor information on certain topics, which may however, be well covered in more obscure sites.
